In the words of Kanye…

WHEN IT’S ALL SAID AND DONE, REMEMBER THE FEARLESS, REMEMBER THE DREAMERS, REMEMBER THOSE WHO REPRESENT THE GHETTO…THE FAIRY TALE OF NOTHING TO SOMETHING. I’M BRIEFLY SADDENED BY NEGATIVE COMMENTS, BUT I HAVE TO REMEMBER THOSE PEOPLE ARE SCARED, INCAPABLE OR JUST PLAIN IDIOTS. WE ARE THE FUCKING ROCK STARS BABY. NO COCAINE, JUST LIFE MY NIGGAS!! NO COCAINE, JUST LIFE! IT’S FUNNY TO ME WHEN FASHION BLOGGERS DOWN OUR OUFITS AND THEN SUPER JOCK OUTLANDISH SHIT ON THE RUNWAY BUT THEN THEY DRESS MAD PRUDE AND DON’T LIVE FASHION. WE LIVE IT MAN. FUCK THAT, WE LIVE IT!!! WE LIVE IT SO HARD PEOPLE LIVE THROUGH US! WE REPRESENT YOUR INNER SPIRIT!! THE CHILD IN US ALL, THE BRUTAL HONESTY, THE NAIVETY, THE BRAVE WARRIOR, THE ADRENALINE THAT ALLOWS A MOTHER TO LIFT A CAR IF HER CHILD WAS TRAPPED UNDER IT! REMEMBER, THERE WAS A TIME WHEN EVERYBODY DISSED MICHAEL JACKSON EVERY CHANCE THEY COULD. IMAGINE THE PRESSURE OF BEING A TRUE ICON. VERY FEW HUMAN BEINGS ARE STRONG ENOUGH TO TAKE CONSTANT HATE!!! IF WE DON’T DO WHAT YOU FEEL IS THE SHIT, YOU BEAT US UP VERBALLY AND MENTALLY, LIKE A CATHOLIC SCHOOL TEACHER BEATING A CREATIVE STUDENT INTO SUBMISSION. I CAN HEAR YOU SCREAMING ‘COLOR INSIDE THE LINES!!!’ WELL FUCK YOUR COLORING BOOK, COLOR BY NUMBERS APPROACH TO LIFE. AT THE END OF THE DAY WHO ARE WE HURTING??? OH “THE NEW BLACK???” SINCE BARACK IS PRESIDENT BLACKS DON’T LIKE FUR COATS, RED LEATHER, AND FRIED CHICKEN ANY MORE?! WHEN YOU TRULY UNDERSTAND CULTURAL SETTINGS, BOUNDARIES, AND OUR MODERN DAY CASTE SYSTEMS, THEN YOU CAN FEEL THE GLORY AND PAIN FROM THE DAYS OF KINGS IN AFRICA TO THE NEW KINGS OF THE MEDIA. LET THE BALL PLAYERS DANCE AFTER THEY SCORE! IT’S LIFE MY NIGGAS, IT’S LIFE! REMEMBER CLOTHING IS A CHOICE. WE WERE BORN NAKED!!! FRESH IS AN OPINION, LOVE IS OBJECTIVE, TASTE IS SELECTIVE, AND . NO MORE POLITICS OR APOLOGIES!!!

Lil Wayne – Run This Town Freestyle

October 26, 2009 Leave a comment

It makes no sense what Wayne did to this track. In 2 minutes he single handedly put an end to who had the best verse on Run This Town. Wayne did. I mean seriously as I typed this my face is folded like a crumbled up piece of paper. I swear I look some something stinks.

“Super Ill Super sick, Dog I go super Vick, Ran into a super woman, turned her to a super bitch hit her w/ the super dick, she be coming super quick… Now I’m off that super shit, fuck that shit I super quit”

Hottest MCs In The Game

#1-JayZ

Spit Fire:

“A hundred million to the good and I’m still talkin’ yayo/ At a snail’s pace I won this race that y’all trail/ Uh, uh, Blueprint’s for sale/ Followin’ my footprints, you can’t fail/ Set sail, I used to duck shots but now I eat quail/ I’ll probably never see jail/ Each tale contains more of the truth/ Of the statue allows me to go into detail/ Uh, close your eyes you can smell/ Hov’s the audio equivalent of Braille/ That’s why they feel me in the favelas in Brazil/ And Waterhouse, ’cause real recognize real.” (from “Real As It Gets”)

Co-Signer: Mary J. Blige “My favorite MC right now: Jay-Z. Forever more it will be Jay-Z. Jay-Z’s raised all these kids: the Drakes, the Lil Waynes. I love and respect them because they respect him for giving that gift. Jay-Z is definitely at the top of my list. That’s why we love him, he keeps going and elevating and blessing the new generation. You can’t lose like that.”

“All my music and emotions is based off real truth,” Jay said recently. “I believe that’s why I’m here and still competing for VMA nominations and Grammys every year. [Eleven] #1 albums in a row — that’s not something you can doctor. I can make the greatest marketing plan in the world … but I can’t make that happen unless that’s some truth under there.”

#2-Lil’ Wayne

Spit Fire:

“Pardon the swag, but b—h, its Car-tay/ Long bread, I don’t eat shortcake/ How come I can’t miss a woman like I can’t miss court dates?/ Cheese, but she’s not in this portrait/ Life’s fine, but I do not portray/ And I’mma f— the world, but this is just foreplay/ Tired of hearing bullsh–, bring on the cow sh–/ Haven’t met a smell that’s stinkier than our sh–.”

While other members of Young Money, such as female standout Nicki Minaj, have shown tremendous personality and presence on the mic, the Drake/ Wayne tag team on freestyles and singles such as “Ignant Sh–” “Every Girl,” “Successful” and the all-star team-up of “Forever” (also featuring Kanye West and Eminem) has been lyrically exhilarating, carpeted with ferocious quotables. The prolific duo has planted the flag for Young Money’s takeover.

Wayne’s trusted stamp of quality has even given his career-long recording home, Cash Money Records (of which Young Money is an offshoot), an added rejuvenation. Veteran the Birdman has featured his stepson Weezy on two concrete hits: “Always Strapped” and the current “Money To Blow.” Meanwhile, newcomers Jay Sean and Kevin Rudolf have been able to ride the Wayne bandwagon to the top of the charts with the Weezy-guested hits “Down” and “Let It Rock,” respectively.

#3-Drake

Spit Fire:

“Private flights back home/ No stop over, still spitting that sh– that they shot Pac over/ The sh– my mother look shocked over/ Yeah, but with a canvas I’m a group of seven/ A migraine, take two Excedrin/ I’m the one, twice over, I’m the new 11/ And if I die I’mma do it repping … Coolest kid out baby, word to Chuck Inglish/ Count my own money, see the paper cut fingers/ My song is your girlfriend’s waking-up ringer/ Heh, or alarm, or whatever/ She be here at six in the morn if I let her … Make pasta, rent a movie, called hoes over/ Rest in peace to Heath Ledger, but I’m no joker.” (from “Ignant Sh–” freestyle)

Co-Signer: Lil Wayne “That kid is honestly almost to the respect [level] of talking about one of the greatest,” Lil Wayne said. “Like how we talk about Big, he’s almost that and he ain’t dropped. He don’t have an album. Then he’s singing — that takes away from the respect of an artist. So for him to do it and maintain that respect and maintain that popularity, I think that’s enough said. But I heard him a long time ago. When I heard him, I said, ‘He needs to be in my clique to make me stronger. Let’s go!’ ” Read more…

Kanye West / Lady Gaga’s Fame Kills Tour Cancelled

October 2, 2009 Leave a comment

Kanye West and Lady Gaga’s co-headlining Fame Kills Tour has been canceled, according to a press release from tour promoter Live Nation. No explanation given for cancellation of tour, which was scheduled to launch on November 10.

No reason was given for the cancellation. The press release stated that refunds are available at the point of purchase, and that tickets purchased online and via phone will be refunded automatically.

Rumors about the tour’s possible cancellation have been swirling for days, largely related to the negative publicity stemming from West’s interruption of Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards last month. The tour, which West abruptly announced during a television appearance in the spring and was scheduled to launch on November 10 in Phoenix, was oddly not confirmed by either of the artists’ reps until mid-September.

50 Cent slammed the tour — which he called “the gay tour” — in an interview on New York’s Hot 97 on Wednesday, but apologized for his comments on Thursday (October 1) after a wave of negative feedback in the media. Read more…

Topics: Kanye + Gaga tour (= “gay tour”), Jay-Z (“coolest punk in hip-hop”), Eminem (speculates that Em isn’t happy with the mix of Forever), Kim Kardashian perfume business venture, how he feels his career hasn’t peaked yet (“I think I got another 5 years left”), MTV Hottest MC list (“I think I’m #1”), Banks’ double-disc mixtape (“I heard him say that, and I’m making sure it’s not 2 CDs. I can’t even listen to me that much.”), Lil Wayne and more.

Curtis has mastered passive aggression. Still as entertaining as ever.

Jay-Z Compares Lil Mama to Kanye

September 29, 2009 Leave a comment

In an interview with Angie Martinez, Jay-z finally speaks on Lil Mama jumping on stage during his VMA performance:
“I would never do that. I would never have the nerve to do that. We go to rehearsals, we do run-throughs, and we work really hard on the performance to put on a show for people. And to interrupt that moment for us, I don’t think that was the right thing to do.
I actually thought it was the equivalent of what Kanye did to Taylor Swift but nobody really talked about that because I’m not a lil sweet girl from middle America.
I’m cool with her being excited and all that, but you also have to understand people put in work to make that performance happen–the planning of it, there’s a lot of planning that went into that performance. To disrupt that is out of line.
“…To be honest, I was a little angry–but what imma do, fight Lil mama?” -Str8nyc
